22:38 Uranus goes retrograde
We have Mercury and Uranus stationing to go retrograde this week, and Mars going into exile in Libra, which is sort of like another retrograde. Plus, Sun enters Virgo, compelling us to get into the nitty-gritty of getting things done. So, lots of anxiety and change just from the ingresses.
But the aspects are even more powerful and compelling, driving us to action, clarity and choices about the future.
IMPORTANT: There are no planets in Air, so thinking, planning and communicating are even harder than usual. It can be very helpful to journal down any dreams, ideas, tasks, questions, intuitions that come up during this time even if you don’t yet know what their significance is. Especially if you don’t. Mercury retrograde is a great time to review and revisit for insights and creative inspiration.
The week opens with Sun still transiting the Finger of Fate with Neptune sextile Pluto that Venus charted during her station retrograde. The solar transit through this area, making an inconjunct to Neptune on Sunday and Pluto on Monday afternoon, should bring some clarity of vision to the dream we created with Venus. As Sun transits this area in rulership, we should be getting more specificity about what we have to do to make the dream materialize, to undream it and transition into acting on it, now and going forward. This transit is also illuminating some facts and potential challenges along the way. Note them down, put them on your to-do list, discuss them with a mentor or counselor if you need to.
As Sun approaches the anaretic degree of Leo and conjunction with the royal star Regulus, we also have some more challenging energies in the cosmic background – Mars opposite Neptune and Venus square Jupiter. Anaretic Sun conjunct Regulus marks a sort of high point of the hemispheric summer, when we feel royal and relaxed. This is when we have some clarity about future ambitions before we get dirty with the practicalities of it as Sun enters Virgo. Mars opposite Neptune, already in tight orb from the previous week, acts as a dampener, muddler and energy sink.
Mars opposite Neptune typically leads to lack of motivation and aversion to physical effort, especially exercise. This is a listless, sometimes depressing energy, doubly so because we feel a lack of clarity about our course of action. We both don’t have confidence about what to do next and don’t have the drive to take action one way or another. Forcing things in the Neptunian haze can also have unforeseen and detrimental consequences simply because we are foggy about the consequences. This is likely to be made worse by the lack of Air in the sky, which makes it harder to use our critical function, while also amplifying any feelings of drowning or floating with the current – without agency and drive. Cherry on top, Mercury stationing is practically still in Virgo, doubling down on the Earth energy – and any performance anxiety we feel.
It’s a LOT.
